James Jakes News
F3 Euroseries race 1 report
27/10/2008James Jakes' difficult weekend at Hockenheim continued on Saturday as contact with several of his rivals left him struggling with a damaged car in the first race.
The British driver had been optimistic of a points finish after qualifying inside the top 10, but his hopes were dented at the very start as Koudai Tsukakoshi made contact with him.
James then suffered further hits from other drivers throughout the opening lap, which meant he had to complete the rest of the race with damaged suspension, and he had to fight hard to eventually finish 11th.
"I don't know what was going on out there, people just kept driving into me," said James. I was hit five times early on, and the car was so hard to drive after that.
"Even when I gave other guys room they still found a way to drive into me. It just summed up the kind of season we've had really.
"For tomorrow's race, we've just got to go out there and see what we can do. There's talk of rain, which would obviously open things up for us, but we've just got to go for it and see what happens."
