Season Finale : Hockenheim Qualifying report
27/10/2008James Jakes had a difficult start to his final F3 Euro Series weekend of the season at Hockenheim on Friday, as the British driver was disappointed despite qualifying in the top 10.
James had high hopes for the session, but a broken damper caused him problems during the session, and he had to battle on to eventually get his car up to ninth on the grid.
"I don't really know where we could have ended up without the problems," James said afterwards. "Considering that, to be inside the top 10 is a pretty good effort, but I'm still disappointed."
The result does at least offer James a good chance of finishing his season with some points, and the possibility of getting himself in contention for Sunday's race 2 thanks to the reverse grid rule.
"We'll have to see what we can do," he added. "It's frustrating really because we've had more bad luck, and it seems like things like this keep holding us back."
